How are sessions counted?

How are Sessions counted in general?

1. Each time a new device connects thru the SOCIFI Captive Portal (login page) for the first time, a new Session is created and counted.
2. If the visitor decides not to connect to the internet but stays on the SOCIFI Captive Portal (login page) the active Session will expire after 4 hours of inactivity and then a new Session is created and counted.
3. Once the free Wi-Fi Session lapses a new session is created and counted (the Session time depends on the length of free Wi-Fi you set under Authentication and Settings, e.g.15 minutes to 3 days).

This means that a single user can open multiple sessions.

What type of Sessions are not counted?

We don't count the Sessions where the third party Ad is delivered against your tariff. If you use a combination of Flat Fee Tariff and Media Network, you can see a total number in you Dashboard, however, only Flat Fee Sessions are counted against your current tariff.

Session Overview

You can see your actual Session consumption in the SOCIFI Dashboard / My Profile. When you reach the maxim limit of your tariff, you can anytime upgrade to the higher tariff and gain needed sessions.

What happens when I reach my Session limit?

When the Session limit is reached before the end of the Accounting Period and you do not upgrade to a higher plan, the third-party ads from Media Network might be served. If the payment fails, we update your tariff to Media Network and your internal ads won't show up. Self-promotion tariff will resume at the beginning of the accounting period (if the payment passes correctly).

If we are unable to withdraw the payment, we will send you a notification on the same day and on the 3rd day of the Accounting Period. On the 7th day of the accounting period we will notify you that your self-promotion tariff has been switched to Media Network.
