Cisco WLC with FlexConnnect AP

Basic settings are based on the standard WLC Controller settings. This manual only describes the modification of the settings.This technology uses AP management from the controller that the user data is not transmitted to the network controller but are handled locally. The advantage is to reduce the burden on connecting lines and faster response times.

The Controller and the AP VLAN 1030 was used as the default on the side of the port untagged (untagged) and assigned to a VLAN 0. VLAN 1031 on both devices VLAN was tagging set to 1031. As the result, the clients' devices were authenticated to the RADIUS server through the controller. Any other data was sent straight from the AP through the firewall out.

RADIUS Setting

It's necessary to set two servers as indicated in the instructions. Please add primary and secondary RADIUS as instructed.

You need to test if Network User and Management have to be selected or not. During our tests, we haven't seen any difference except the fact when the settings are crossed they generate a lot of undesirable data. The settings should be turned off. Please consult with your IT Provider.
