How to test that Walled Garden settings work properly?

Are you sure that your Walled Garden settings work properly? Here is a manual, how to test it. Please follow the instruction below.

Example for testing:

 Facebook login and Like button
  1. Login to SOCIFI Dashboard and allow login through social networks.
  2. Make sure that you have set self-promo tariff and create a Facebook ad (disable any other ads) or make sure that Facebook ad will be delivered. You can't be a Fan of the Facebook page to test Like button.
  3. Disconnect from any internet connection.
  4. Open Chrome browser (by Google) on your computer.
  5. Connect to your WiFi network (hotspot registered at SOCIFI Dashboard) and Brand page with social login authentication must be triggered (Captive portal). Do not connect yet!
  6. Open developer tools (Ctrl+Shift+I) in the Chrome.
  7. Switch to "networks" tab (Chrome).
  8. Check "Preserve log" (Chrome). 
  9. Authenticate to get connected to the internet by Facebook login (Captive portal).
  10. You see the first Developer tools report now. If you see the unreachable source highlighted by red color, check your Walled Garden settings again and reboot your hotspot. Repeat the test again.
  11. Facebook ad must be delivered after successful connection through Facebook login.
  12. Click on the "Like" button.
  13. You are connected and your Walled Garden settings are correct if you don't see any red color highlighted records in the Developer tools report (Chrome).
  14. If you see the unreachable source highlighted by red color, check your Walled Garden settings again and reboot your hotspot. Visit our Support Center and select your hardware manual to set Walled Garden properly.

 Google login

  4. Connect to your WiFi network (hotspot registered at SOCIFI Dashboard) and Brand page with social login authentication must be triggered (Captive portal). Do not connect yet!
  5. Open developer tools (Ctrl+Shift+I) in the Chrome.
  6. Switch to "networks" tab (Chrome).
  7. Check "Preserve log" (Chrome). 
  8. Authenticate to get connected to the internet by Google login (Captive portal).
  9. You see the first Developer tools report now. If you see the unreachable source highlighted by red color, check your Walled Garden settings again and reboot your hotspot. Repeat the test again.
  10. You are connected and your Walled Garden settings are correct if you don't see any red color highlighted records in the Developer tools report (Chrome).
  11. If you see the unreachable source highlighted by red color, check your Walled Garden settings again and reboot your hotspot. Visit our Support Center and select your hardware manual to set Walled Garden properly.

 Content delivery network (CAP100 Issue)
  1. Disconnect from any internet connection.
  2. Open Chrome browser (by Google) on your computer.
  3. Open developer tools (Ctrl+Shift+I) in the Chrome.
  4. Switch to "networks" tab (Chrome).
  5. Check "Preserve log" (Chrome). 
  6. Connect to your WiFi network (hotspot registered at SOCIFI Dashboard) andBrandpage with social login authentication must be triggered (Captive portal). Do not connect yet!
  7. You see the first Developer tools report now. If you see the unreachable source highlighted by red color, check your Walled Garden settings again and reboot your hotspot. Repeat the test again.
  8. If the Captive Portal is rendered correctly and you don't see CAP100 error screen (https://socifi-doc.atlassian.net/wiki/x/RwCKAQ) your Walled Garden settings are correct. If not, you should see any red colour highlighted records in the Developer tools report (Chrome).
  9. If you see the unreachable source highlighted by red color, check your Walled Garden settings again and reboot your hotspot. Visit our Support Center and select your hardware manual to set Walled Garden properly.
